How to Customize Your Home Screen

In the MapHabit app, you can customize your Home Screen to suit your needs.

Introduction

In the MapHabit app, you can customize your Home Screen to suit your needs.

The Home screen is divided into two halves. The left half of the home screen is called the widget. The widget can be changed to a number of preset options. The right half of the home screen is used for navigation through the app.

In this article, we will discuss how to customize the Home Screen.

Part 1: Customizing Navigation

The buttons shown on the right half of the screen are the navigation buttons. Tapping them will take you to various parts of the app. However, if there are certain buttons that are not useful to you, you may remove them from the home screen.

To do this:

  1. First tap Account in the top right corner of the app display.
  2. Next tap Settings in the drop-down menu that appears
  3. Under the Navigation heading, you can then un-check items you don't want to see.

This process also works in reverse. If you want to restore any items that have been hidden from the navigation setting you can simply re-check them under account settings any time you want.

Part 2: Customizing the Widget

The widget occupies the left side of the home screen. By default, the first time you login it will show Featured Maps. These are maps tailored to your needs or interests based on the welcome survey you completed the first time you logged into the app.

It can also display several other items. To view these options,  first tap Account in the upper right corner of the app display, then tap Settings. The Widget options will be presented in the drop down menu. You may need to scroll down to see them.

For individuals, you will have three options:

  • Featured Maps (maps from your welcome survey)
  • Quick Maps (unscheduled maps selected for quick access)
  • Daily Schedule (your daily schedule and associated maps)

For users supporting an individual, you will also have a fourth option:

  • Support Summary (quick access to view the person or people you're supporting)

Choosing any of these options from the menu will replace the default Featured Maps option on the left side of the home screen. You can always change it back at any time by selecting the Featured Maps option from the widget settings.
